Our Communities, Our Stories

How does an RFA and a grant award actually look on a community? See some examples of how FSOP grants actually affect a community.

Cankdeska Cikana Community College (CCCC) is a tribal community college located in Fort Totten, North Dakota, serving the Spirit Lake Dakota Nation. The college offers a variety of academic programs, including associate degrees and certificates, emphasizing cultural preservation, community development, and higher education access for Native American students. CCCC integrates Dakota culture, language, and values into its curriculum, promoting personal growth and leadership within the community.

CCCC is a current recipient of an FSOP grant, working on preservation education.

The Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) is a nonprofit organization based in Davis, California, that advocates for sustainable agriculture, family farms, and local food systems. Founded in 1978, CAFF works to build strong connections between family farmers and local communities, fostering sustainable, just, and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. The CAFF is a recipient of an FSOP grant.
